Attending the workshop, on VKIST side, there were Mr. Vu Duc Loi – Vice President, Mr. Phuong Thien Thuong - Vice President and other Division Heads and researchers of VKIST. On KIST side, there was Mr. Lim Hwan - Chief Representative of the Technology Commercialization Strategy Division. In addition, both sides invited a number of enterprises in the fields of biotechnology, information technology, advanced materials, etc. to attend.
Overview of the workshop
Leaders of both sides hope that the workshop will be a bridge connecting technology supply and demand between Vietnam and Korea. By inviting top-notch companies in Korea to introduce their advanced technology, VKIST expect to boost technology transfer as well as close the gap between demand and supply of advanced technology and promote technology-based investment cooperation between organizations of both sides. This is a golden chance for participants to not only exchange ideas and look for cooperative opportunities with potential counterparts, but also present their difficulties for others to comment and suggest solutions.
At the workshop, 6 Vietnamese enterprises and organizations have attended and discussed lively with Korean partners on the possibility of technology transfer, investment cooperation, joint ventures based on technology.
Speaking at the seminar, Mr. Ahn Seung Jin, Director of the Innovation Enterprise Cooperation Center expressed his wish that through the workshop, not only will it stop at the exchange and introduction of technology, but the parties will also carry out joint research activities in developing advanced technology.

The Korean side has introduced 02 typical technology products: (1) Heterogeneous communication integration portal (a system for communicating with different channels or linking with different communication systems by linking with existing radios) developed by Beecheon; (2) SMC water bath (which is a molding material on a plate with good formability, created by impregnating reinforcing materials, fillers, release agents, colorants, catalysts, etc. to increase the degree of chemically viscous to the resin in the form of unsaturated poly) developed by Sejin SMC. These are technologies that have been successfully applied by several businesses in Korea and wish to be transferred in Vietnam

At the end of the workshop, Mr. Vu Duc Loi – Vice President of VKIST said, "The workshop will create an opportunity for science and technology organizations and businesses of both sides to exchange information about technology, look for potential cooperation and promote technology transfer between Vietnam and Korea. This kind of activity also helps leverage cooperation between S&T enterprises and organizations of both sides on research and development activities as well as technology transfer.”
