Life has become a lot easier and better with advancements in science and technology. The science and technology holds the key to the progress and development of any nation (agriculture industry business and national security), and wellbeing of people (food clothes, housing, communication hygiene and healthcare and education) across the globe. We are living in a lot better world; on a high point of human well-being in history. Therefore, proper implementation of science and technology is even more important in developing economies. The primary mission of VKIST is to promulgate applied research next to enterprises for industrial development of the Vietnam. VKIST has set the vision of "technology solution provider", with which enterprises would enhance absorption capacity of old and new technologies for market success. VKIST has developed a new paradigm benchmarking the KIST-model in Korea and accommodating environment of the socialist market-oriented economy (SME) in Vietnam. The VKIST-model is based on the concept of contract research organization as a public R&D agency. New operation system has been made using full leverages of financial autonomy and a ODA support from Korea. The VKIST-model is expected to set a new benchmark for innovating public research agencies in Vietnam, thereby driving the structural transformation of the national innovation system. As striving to accomplish our mission, VKIST is looking for close cooperation with research partners in enterprises, public R&D agencies and universities both in Vietnam and abroad. VKIST is excited to accompany these research partners on its journey to promote industrial technology.
