Visit of Female Intellectual Association of Ministry of Science and Technology at VKIST

Within the framework of event series celebrating the Vietnam Science and Technology on May 18 and 5-year anniversary of VKIST, in the morning of May 27, Vietnamese Female Intellectual Association visited VKIST.

There were Ms. Le Thi Hop – President of Vietnamese Female Intellectual Association, Ms. Luong Ngoc Tram – Vice President of Women Leaders Network of Ministries and branches, Ms. Le Thi Khanh Van –President of Female Intellectual Association at MOST, Ms. Pham Thi Van Anh – Vice President of Female Intellectual Association at MOST together with other members.

From the VKIST side, there were Ms. Hoang Hien Hau – Head of Administration Division and Heads of research Divisions together with several researchers.

At the meeting, the Female Intellectual Association was introduced to the journey of establishment and development of VKIST. After that, all participants joined with VKIST in a laboratory tour around the headquarters.

Assoc. Prof. Truong Thi Ngoc Lien - Head of Convergence Technology Division, the only female Head of research division, briefly shared the research orientation that her research group is currently implementing. The Convergence Technology Division is expected to launch two product lines of (1) Magnetic Lateral Flow Immunoassays strip (MagLFIA) that allow rapid and simultaneous quantification of two biomarkers CA 15-3 and CEA; and (2) Magnetic Lateral Flow Immunoassays strip using photothermal effect (Thermal-MagLFIA) for on-site detection of avian influenza viruses. Especially, participants showed their great interest in the research that directly resolves their daily needs, such as test strips for early detection of breast cancer, color measurement sensor for identifying spoiled food, health care products and cosmetics from medicinal herbs of Biotechnology Division, etc.
