Participants of the meeting include: Assoc. Prof. Phuong Thien Thuong – Vice President and some Heads of Divisions from VKIST side, and Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Minh Tam – Vice Chancellor together with Heads and representatives of member units from VNU HCM side.
Overview of the meeting
At the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Phuong Thien Thuong has briefly presented some key information about VKIST, including overview, outstanding achievements, development orientations with the aim of making VKIST become a world-class research institute and a hub facilitating the strategic relationship between Vietnam and Korea.

In turn, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Minh Tam – Vice Chancellor of VNU HCM extended his sincere appreciation to VKIST for the warm welcome. In his speech, Mr. Tam shared that VNU HCM was established by the Vietnamese Government in 1995 to create a high-quality multi-disciplinary center for undergraduate and graduate training together with scientific research, serving as the core of the higher education system, meeting the needs of socio-economic development. As an institution providing training services along with conducting research activities and knowledge- transferring, VNU HCM can be a potential partner of VKIST in several spheres. On that basis, both sides have a great chance to collaborate in undergraduate and master's education, as well as the implementation of joint research activities. VNU HCM hoped that this meeting would be an opportunity for both sides to discuss further cooperation directions in details.

After the meeting, VNU HCM joined with VKIST in the laboratory tour. During the tour, VKIST has introduced some outstanding research accomplishments during the past time. On that basis, both sides agreed to promote further cooperation in the future with the expectation of jointly implementing collaborating activities contributing to making science, technology and innovation become the driving force of socio-economic development.
