The Memorandum of Understanding Signing Ceremony to promote R&D activities and the Ceremony for unveiling the VKIST monument

On September 30, 2021, Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology - Mr. Huynh Thanh Dat and the Korean Ambassador to Vietnam - Mr. Park Noh Wan visited the new headquarters of VKIST in Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park.

On September 30, 2021, Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) - Mr. Huynh Thanh Dat and the Korean Ambassador to Vietnam - Mr. Park Noh Wan visited the new headquarters of VKIST in Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park. On this occasion, the Minister and the Ambassador jointly attended a series of important events including "The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Signing Ceremony to promote R&D activities between VKIST and some counterparts", "The ceremony for unveiling the VKIST monument" and the laboratory tour at VKIST.

Since its inception, VKIST has always focused on expanding and strengthening R&D cooperation with institutes, universities and enterprises in a number of key R&D fields, which are in line with the development orientation of both sides. Under the witness of the MOST Minister - Mr. Huynh Thanh Dat, Korean Ambassador to Vietnam - Mr. Park Noh Wan, MOST Vice Minister - Mr. Bui The Duy, Deputy Director of Korea International Cooperation Agency in Vietnam (KOICA Vietnam) - Ms. Seo Mi Young, President of Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park Management Board - Mr. Luu Hoang Long, together with other Institute Council members and representatives from Departments under MOST, VKIST has signed 3 MoUs with CVI Cosmetics Pharmaceutical JSC. (CVI Pharma), Nam Duoc JSC., and the Institute for Control Engineering and Automation (ICEA) to promote activities in biotechnology and electronics fields. The MoU signing ceremony showed the mutual cooperation commitment of both sides in R&D activities, capacity building and sharing of R&D facilities/equipment, etc., thereby contributing to the enhancement of research capacity and product development following the market’s needs.

Speaking at the MoU Signing Ceremony, the Korean Ambassador to Vietnam - Mr. Park Noh Wan congratulated VKIST for the cooperation with many domestic enterprises, institutes and universities to implement joint R&D activities. The Ambassador also considered the establishment of VKIST as a symbol of the S&T cooperation between both Governments. Furthermore, he expressed his belief that, in the near future, VKIST will gain significant R&D achievements and become a "technical solution provider for market winners".

In his speech, the MOST Minister - Mr. Huynh Thanh Dat thanked the Korean Ambassador to Vietnam - Mr. Park Noh Wan for arranging his visit to VKIST. He also expressed a great gratitude to the Korean Government for facilitating the establishment of VKIST. The Minister affirmed that the success VKIST has achieved is a proof for the right decision of both Governments on investing in building VKIST benchmarking the model of Korea Institute of Science and Technology.

Right after the MoU Signing Ceremony, participants attended the Ceremony for unveiling the VKIST monument. Together with distinguished guests, the MOST Minister and the Korean Ambassador pulled off the red ribbon to unveil the monument, which was made from the underground laterite at VKIST construction site.

A promising future is awaiting VKIST ahead!
