On behalf of MOST leaders, Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Giang highly appreciated the cooperation between the two Institutes in research and development (R&D) of modern technologies for industry development and sustainable economic growth. The signing of the MoU reflects the two sides’ strong commitment on strategic cooperation in the coming time. The fields of cooperation include healthcare products originated from Viet Nam’s natural herbs; products in the field of information technology and automation; academic publications and information sharing and exchanging; networking on domestic and international cooperation on science and technology; sharing and collaboration in the use of laboratories, equipment and necessary tools; and other activities agreed upon by both sides.
Overview of the event
Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Giang emphasized that the two Institutes need to coordinate and follow the MOST’s policy on scientific and technological research in association with applicability and market demand, and business development. In addition, the two Institutes need to coordinate closely with organizations and agencies inside and outside of MOST and provinces so that the research content is consistent with the socio-economic development strategy of Viet Nam. Since each Institute has its own strength, it is necessary for both sides to cooperate for mutual development purpose. MOST will create favorable conditions for both VKIST and NACENTECH to co-implement science and technology tasks in localities.
According to Dr. Kum Dongwha, VKIST has been working hard to become a public contract research Institute. Currently, VKIST is giving top priority to building laboratories, so it is very necessary to get experience sharing and exchanging from NACENTECH in related fields. In fact, VKIST and NACENTECH have been co-implementing some projects in the information technology field such as IoT (Internet of things) for melon and IoT for the flow of patients.
Thanks to its 36 years of establishment and development, NACENTECH has advantages of possessing good facilities and personnel in various research fields. Hence, it can cooperate with VKIST in many research fields including information technology.
By the end of the Ceremony, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Phu Hung and Dr. Kum Dongwha expressed the mutual belief that the strategic cooperation will soon bring great benefits not only to the two Institutes but also to the development of Viet Nam, contributing to the country’s sustainable economic growth./.
