On September 3rd, 2020, Phenikaa University and Vietnam - Korea Institute of Science and Technology (VKIST) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the strategic cooperation towards promoting training and research,

On September 3rd, 2020, Phenikaa University and Vietnam - Korea Institute of Science and Technology (VKIST) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the strategic cooperation towards promoting training and research activities under the witness of Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Bui The Duy and Chairman of Phenikaa Group cum Board of Trustee of Phenikaa University Ho Xuan Nang.

As mentioned in the MoU, Phenikaa University and VKIST will promote cooperation in the fields of Bio Technology, Information Technology and a number of other research areas. Specifically, the two Sides need to closely promote collaboration on research and development of lifecare and healthcare products from Vietnamese herbal plants and advanced material technology. In addition, VKIST and Phenikaa University also pay special attention to mutual cooperation in scientific research and human resource training; academic publication-sharing and information exchanges; domestic and international cooperation network building; sharing and cooperating in the use of laboratories, research equipment, etc. for R&D activities.

According to Vice Minister Bui The Duy, the cooperation between Universities and research Institutes is an important factor in conducting S&T research and development under the National Project on promotion of S&T development in Viet Nam. He hoped that the two Sides will promote S&T research and innovation and take advantage to develop and commercialize researched products.

Chairman of the Phenikaa Group Ho Xuan Nang emphasized that the signing ceremony marked an important milestone in the development of the both Sides. By putting top priority on scientific research and technological innovation, Phenikaa University and VKIST are possessing a number of mutual benefits, making favorable conditions for research and commercialization of S&T products, while enhancing ideas exchange among scientists.

With the strengths of Phenikaa University, Dr. Kum Dongwha - President of VKIST said that the two Sides can coordinate to conduct R&D to satisfy the needs of the market.

According to Dr. Kum Dongwha, the building of VKIST at Hoa Lac High Tech Park (HHTP), currently under construction, is expected to be completed by the end of this year. Until the headquarters and laboratories can be put into operation, VKIST will send scientists to the laboratories of Phenikaa University to carry out researches.
