Overview of the ceremony
At the ceremony, Ms. Hoang Hien Hau – Head of Administration Division at VKIST has announced the Decision No. 196/QD-VKIST dated June 1, 2022 of VKIST President on receiving and appointing Mr. Vu Duc Loi as VKIST Vice President since June 1, 2022.
In his speech after awarding the decision of appointment, Mr. Bui The Duy congratulated and thanked Mr. Vu Duc Loi for joining VKIST as Vice President that plays a key role in the VKIST apparatus. As the leadership was gradually consolidated, Mr. Duy expressed his belief that VKIST would further improve the quality of research work as well as the efficiency of operational activities. Considering 28-year experience at Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) in several positions ranging from research-focused one to managerial one, Mr. Duy believed that the new Vice President would greatly contribute to the success of VKIST in its upcoming journey. In addition, Mr. Duy urged VKIST to focus on the prioritized goal of finalizing the mid&long-term R&D plan based on the market demand and latest trend. Mr. Duy also hoped that Mr. Loi would take advantage of his experience and expertise in previous positions at VAST, especially those related to big projects, to join hand with VKIST Leaders to develop the Institute in all aspects, thereby contributing to the thriving of VKIST in the future.

Prior to VKIST, Mr. Vu Duc Loi was Vice Director of the Institute of Chemistry under VAST. Speaking at the ceremony as a new Vice President, Mr. Vu Duc Loi expressed his sincere appreciation to MOST Leaders, VKIST President and all VKIST members for choosing him as one of VKIST Leaders. Mr. Loi affirmed that he would try his best to accomplish the tasks assigned by the President. Moreover, his hoped for the continued support and attention of MOST Leaders and other Departments under MOST together with the companionship of all VKIST members during his tenure.
In his new position, Mr. Vu Duc Loi pledged to constantly learn and strive in his work. At the same time, he hoped for the continued facilitation of Leaders from MOST as well as other Ministries and branches together with the advocacy of his subordinates at VKIST to jointly develop VKIST as the expectations of both Governments.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Pham Thi Van Anh, Deputy Director of the Department of Organization and Personnel congratulated Mr. Vu Duc Loi on joining the key leadership team of MOST. With the first steps on the road to building a new model of applied research institute, VKIST has been focusing on consolidating its organizational structure by recruiting high-quality human resources. Whereby, VKIST now has more than 70 employees, which is a huge stride compared to the number of 10 people in 2017. She believed that VKIST will make further progress in the coming time with the contribution of the new Vice President.
