Conference on Pharmaceutical Development
The conference was co-organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), the Ministry of Health and the Danang People's Committee in the presence of more than 200 participants, including managers and scientists, institute agencies and especially the participation of over 30 enterprises from provinces in and outside the Central Highlands and South Central region.
Speaking at the opening of the Conference, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Tran Van Tung said that the Central Highlands and South Central region is a region with great potential for medicinal development. The master plan on materia medica development up to 2020 and orientations toward 2030 have been determined: the Central Highlands and the South Central Coast are the two key medicinal material development regions. In recent years, localities in the region have also paid much attention, focusing on the development of medicinal herbs. Many provinces have implemented the master plan on development of medicinal herbs, assessed the potential and advantages of the locality, formulated plannings and programs, and passed resolutions on development of pharmaceutical materials for local economic development. As a result, many new medicinal products have been created to serve health care for the community.
Also in this series of events, VKIST participated in the presentation at the Forum on Application and Transfer of New Technology in Agriculture. This is one of the parallel sessions with other topics in the event. Dr Kum Dongwha attended and presented the presentation "Sharing experiences of Korean enterprises on the study of pharmaceutical processing technology solutions applied to Vietnam". The content of the presentation highlighted the manufacturing process of medicinal herbs. According to Dr. Kum Dongwha, all research is focused on industry and business, so it should bring research solutions to the market with higher value. Research needs to focus on four directions: associated with market demand and market access, focusing on technical development, diversifying R&D and expanding innovation, networks and global cooperation.
In parallel with the activities at the Workshop, VKIST also participated in the image introduction and promotion activities of the Institute to delegates visiting and attending the conference
