It was a chance for VKIST members to leverage their expertise by participating in workshops during the Membership training (MT). Furthermore, MT program aimed to boost the solidarity and teamwork among all members gearing towards the common goal of making VKIST become a leading institute focusing on industrial technology of Vietnam.
In his opening speech, Mr. Phuong Thien Thuong – VKIST Vice President emphasized the importance of capacity building activities for VKIST members which greatly contributes to the advance of their competence and productivity. VKIST Leaders always pay much attention to developing a united team, thereby creating a top-notch working environment with ideal office culture.
Overview of the workshop within the framework of the 4th Membership training
Mr. Tran Le Hong – Vice Director of Intellectual Property Office of Vietnam presented about ‘Developing intellectual property in research institute’
In his presentation, Dr. Tran Le Hong has clearly stated the importance of developing professional human resources in intellectual property considering the increasing market demand. While the innovation startup ecosystem in Vietnam is developing with a fast pace, intellectual property has become a launching pad for innovative startups. According to Dr. Tran Le Hong, start-ups often place more weight on forming businesses and calling for investment over creating intellectual properties and exploiting property rights. Even if they do, their implementation is not effective, which then causes lots of difficulties for their R&D activities and application process.
He also asserted that the success of a business results from their investment in product quality and branding which help elevate customer awareness and acceptance of their product. Meanwhile, the business also needs to enforce intellectual property rights which could become the driving force for the corporate development.
His sharing is genuinely practical and relevant to VKIST context, hence drew great attention of VKIST members. After the presentation, the participants asked lots of questions related to developing intellectual properties at VKIST and how to resolve difficulties that VKIST is currently facing. Through vivid discussion with Dr. Tran Le Hong, VKIST members gained more useful knowledge and experience for their work, thereby further promoting their role in the common cause of intellectual property and innovation in Vietnam.
Within the framework of the 4th MT, Ms. Hoang Hien Hau – Head of Administration Division also delivered a presentation on ‘Cultivating and further developing organizational culture at VKIST’. Organizational culture is a key element to assure the professionalism and work efficiency; therefore, creating a good culture would facilitate the rights and obligations of all parties in the working environment as well as leverage the morale and capacity of employees.
After her presentation, Ms. Hoang Hien Hau gave all participants interesting discussion topics on developing a distinct culture for VKIST based on a common principle called ‘act in VKIST’s best interests’.
