On April 22th to 23th, 2021, VKIST held the 2nd membership training program in Quang Binh province. This was an opportunity for all VKIST members to improve their knowledge about science, technology and national innovation via lectures of the guest speakers and thematic discussions among the participants. At the same time, this program aimed to strengthen the spirit of solidarity and team-work among VKIST members, contributing to the goal of making VKIST become a leading applied research institute.
At the beginning of the program, President Kum Dongwha introduced Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Duc, Former Vice President of Vietnam National University, Hanoi as a guest speaker. President Kum also emphasized that capacity building activity is extremely important which contributes to improving the productivity of VKIST members. Besides, nurturing the team-work spirit among members is similarly important

The membership training program consisted of 3 parts:
Part 1: Lectures of guest speaker
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Duc, Member of the Institute Council at VKIST; Former Vice President of Vietnam National University, Hanoi; Senior Lecturer, Head of the Advisory Group - National Committee for Innovation, has delivered a lecture about “Innovation - Vietnam 2045 aspiration and the role of VKIST”. Mr. Duc is one of the pioneers initiating and promoting the science, technology and innovation in Vietnam. Within his lecture, Mr. Duc shared lots of knowledge about the innovation in Vietnam and some typical lessons in the world, thereby giving important orientations for Vietnam towards 2045 as well as defining the role of VKIST in this progress.
In addition, Mr. Duc spent time discussing the strategy of higher education development to adapt to the Industry 4.0 and provided an overview on the development process of advanced university model in the world. He also emphasized the importance of the innovative university model and the necessity of applying this model to the operation of universities in Vietnam nowadays.

Membership training program including team-building activities is an annual event of VKIST with the aim of providing opportunities to all members to exchange ideas and have better understanding of each other besides their regular work. This is also the chance to recognize and praise the effort and devotion of VKIST members in the past period and jointly determine the goals and directions for the future.
This time, the team-building activities of VKIST was designed following the theme “Solidarity – Power – Reaching out to the sea” with numerous meaningful activities in an attempt to boost the connection and collaboration among Divisions under VKIST.
The 2nd membership training program in Quang Binh left VKIST members with beautiful and unforgettable memories. VKIST leaders hoped that all members would always try their best to complete the assigned work, and join hands to develop VKIST even more in the future.
